    Since the 90's F.G. fell in love with experimental and lo-fi music after he discovered the tapes of Daniel Johnston and the first releases of Beck.
    Under his first alter ego The Ordinary Seaman, he spent more than a decade tape-recording his primitive sound experiments and lyrics about life and youthful love.

    Years later he decided to change his name to Philippe Guislain and started to write in Dutch, his native language, in order to fully express his poetic side.

    On his debut release, 'The Only River' from 2020, he re-examines his songwriter career through the eyes of a 40 year old man. Holding on to their primordial character, he rearranged his old songs in a more mature manner.

    The new album 'Ochtenddirectie' is a selection of Philip Guislain’s dutch poems that abound in love and humor, all taken with a pinch of salt.
